What is the low-income senior discount program?
If you are a low-income senior citizen or low-income disabled citizen, you may qualify for a discount on your City of Bothell utility bill. To qualify, you must meet the following requirements:
- Applicant must be 62 years or older at time of application. Any of the following are proof of age:
- Birth certificate
- Driver's license
- Washington State identification card
- Social Security statement
- Proof of residency would include the following:
- Copies of utility bills
- Driver's license
- Annual income must not exceed the amount specified as "very low income" in the regulations of the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). See application for rate levels.
If you meet the requirements, you may apply for the discount in one of the following ways:
- Complete the Low Income Discount Application; or
- Contact the City of Bothell Utility Billing to have an application mailed to you.
Once completed, return the application to the Customer Service counter in City Hall. In addition to the completed application you will need to bring a picture ID, and provide income verification materials as requested in the application.
