The work is substantially complete and the contractor, Kamins Construction, is expected to finish by the end of October 2018.
As part of the Safe Streets and Sidewalks-funded annual Pavement Preservation Program, the City used the Pavement Condition Index (PCI) to identify four street segments that could benefit from asphalt overlay and repairs. The following street segments were selected:
228th Street SE, west of the overpass to 35th Avenue SE
Beardslee Boulevard from 104th Ave SE to 110th Avenue NE
NE 160th Street, east of the overpass to the 124th Avenue NE intersection
Juanita-Woodinville Way NE near the intersection of NE 145th Street
The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) requires that the City meet the most current accessibility requirements along each street segment to be paved. To do so, the City needed to upgrade the existing legal crossings. This project upgraded the crossings and installed American Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant curb ramps, accessible pedestrian signal (APS) systems, curbs and gutters, sidewalks, and signing. The estimated cost of this project is $491,777.05.
