Push-In Ceremony

**Due to weekend weather forecasts and the safety of our community, the Push-In Ceremony scheduled for Saturday, February 9 has been POSTPONED. This event is rescheduled for Saturday, February 23 at 11 a.m.**

Bothell Fire Department will officially place one of two new Pierce fire engines in service following a tradition, historically known as a “push-in” ceremony. The celebration of welcoming a new fire engine has been a source of pride in the fire service for over 100 years. The origin of the ceremony dates back to horse-drawn equipment, when the horses could not back-up the fire engines and firefighters would unhitch the horses and “push-in” the fire engine after returning from a fire. The community is invited to attend the ceremony. Light refreshments will be served.
