The City of Bothell's Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) is prepared by the City's Finance Department in conformance with the State statute RCW 43.09.230, and with the standards promulgated by the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) of the United States and Canada. These standards require statements to present the financial position of the City and the results of financial operations fairly, in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Bothell's commitment to outstanding achievement is recognized nationally. The Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) has awarded its Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting to the City of Bothell consecutively since 2001. The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by the City of Bothell and its management.
