The Bothell Municipal Court Judge is authorized by law to perform marriage ceremonies in the State of Washington. Marriage ceremonies are performed at the Bothell Municipal Court outside of regular business hours.
Washington State requires a three day waiting period between the date a marriage license is obtained from the Auditor's Office and the date a marriage ceremony can take place. The license is valid for only a 60-day period. The license fee is currently $70 in Snohomish County and $69 in King County and applicants must be 18 years of age or older (without special permission). Please contact the Snohomish County or King County Recorder's Office for more information.
The City of Bothell and Bothell Municipal Court do not provide marriage certificates.
Marriages are performed outside of regular court business and do not involve courthouse staff. Please route your questions and day-of coordination particulars directly to the judge performing your ceremony.
Two witnesses over the age of 18 must attend the ceremony. If no witnesses are available, please inform the judge ahead of your appointment. Please bring your license and certificate with you.
