The Traffic Section strives to provide high quality traffic safety services to all neighborhoods within Bothell, through education, awareness, and enforcement. Traffic Officers work in targeted areas to promote the safety of motorists, bicyclists, and pedestrians who use City streets. The Traffic Section also gives a high priority to preventing driving under the influence violations and arresting drivers who fail to comply with the law.
Traffic Officers are issued marked police cars as well as motorcycles to target violations which cause the majority of traffic collisions in the City of Bothell. These officers receive specialized training such as advanced collision investigation, skid mark analysis, and accident reconstruction. Traffic Officers strive to provide a high level of service in fully documenting all serious injury and fatal traffic collisions in the City.
Members of the Traffic Section also give safety presentations to groups and schools, arrange for towing of abandoned vehicles from city streets, set-up and monitor speed watch trailers, and enforce parking regulations.
