Design and Construction Standards and Specifications

The Public Works Department published the January 2017 edition of the “Bothell Design and Construction Standards and Specifications” (Bothell Standards) on December 30, 2016.

A revised version of the Surface Water Design Manual (Chapter 4 of the Bothell Standards) was added November 1, 2017. Both documents are accessible online through the links below.

In response to flooding within the City of Kenmore, Chapter 4 of the Bothell Standards has been revised to require a Type 3 downstream analysis and Level 3 flow control for all projects draining to the Little Swamp Creek basin. View the updated Bothell Surface Water Design Manual as a PDF.



Updated December 30, 2016


The City incorporated and published the 2016 Bothell Surface Water Design Manual as Chapter 4 in the 2017 Bothell Design and Construction Standards on December 30, 2016.  The changes to Chapter 4 are effective immediately. View the Surface Water Design Manual separately as a PDF.


If you were permitted before December 30, 2016 and will be under construction prior to 2022, you may use the previous version of the Surface Water Design Manual.
