Penn Park Reservoir Replacement

News and project updates

February 14, 2017
The new water tank is in place, but not yet operational. Underground utility work is finished and the wall is constructed. Electrical work should wrap up soon.
Once the tank's interior is painted, the contractor will start filling it with water. We anticipate the tank may be functional later this month.

Painting the exterior of the tank is weather dependent. Penn Park remains closed to users until further notice.

Project description

As part of the City's adopted Water Comprehensive Plan, we replaced the potable water storage tank located in Penn Park to increase its storage capacity.  The new tank is in the same location as the existing tank, but has a larger footprint.  The estimated construction cost is $2.7M.

The former water tank served the area since 1960.

Public impacts

Penn Park is closed to users during construction. In the mean time, why not visit one of Bothell's other parks?

Construction began in late March and should wrap up by spring 2017.

Now you see it...

Now you don't.
