The new water tank is in place, but not yet operational. Underground utility work is finished and the wall is constructed. Electrical work might wrap up by the end of this month.
Once the tank's interior is painted, the contractor will start filling it with water. We anticipate the tank may be functional by mid February.
Painting the exterior of the tank is weather dependent. Penn Park remains closed to users until further notice.
As part of the City's adopted Water Comprehensive Plan, we replaced the potable water storage tank located in Penn Park to increase its storage capacity. The new tank is in the same location as the existing tank, but has a larger footprint. The estimated construction cost is $2.7M.
