Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Course

The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) educates people about disaster preparedness and hazards that may impact their area. The City of Bothell prepares for emergencies every day, however, during a major disaster the scope of the situation may overwhelm conventional emergency services.

Course Content


CERT prepares citizens to be self-sustaining for the first few days following a disaster, when emergency services are not immediately available. In the CERT course, citizens learn:
  • Disaster medical skills
  • Disaster psychology
  • Fire safety and suppression
  • Search and rescue techniques
  • Team organization
  • Triage skills

CERT 2016 will start October 29th!

This course fills quickly and is on a first-come-first-serve basis. To reserve a seat, registration form and $50 fee must be received.
