City of Bothell is not responsible for lost or delayed packages/application materials.

Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Questionnaire
City of Bothell requests applicants complete the EEO Questionnaire. The information allows the City to evaluate hiring practices and to submit required reports by law to the state and federal governments. This information is strictly confidential and is filed and tracked separately from the application. The information will not be used to make employment decisions.

City of Bothell is an Equal Opportunity Employer. Qualified applicants receive consideration for employment without discrimination because of race, color, national origin, sex, age, marital status, veteran status, sexual orientation or the presence of disability.

Employment Offer
Reference checks will be conducted on finalist candidates, which will include discussion with the applicant's current employer. An offer of employment is contingent upon the City's verification of the employee's legal right to work in the United States, and the employee passing a criminal history background check as well as providing a satifactory driving abstract. Some positions have further requirements including passing polygraph and credit checks. The job announcement will reflect these announcements.

Police Officer and Firefighter positions are Civil Service positions that require a Civil Service process. Generally, the City recruits for Police Officer and Firefighter positions at least once a year, thereby establishing an eligibility list. The eligibility list is certified by the Civil Service Commission and is active for one year, with the option to be extended for an additional year. The eligibility list will be used to fill any vacancies that occur during the course of the life of the list.

Entry and lateral Police Officer and Firefighter positions will be announced online when the recruitment process begins.
