The Washington State Department of Commerce has launched ExportWashington.com to help Washington State small and medium-sized businesses find local, state and federal resources to support their export strategies.

The site helps companies that want to:

• Build or expand their export plan
• Find export grants and loans
• Consult with a trained Commerce trade specialist
• Find local and international opportunities to connect with potential customers and business partners

The site also features Export Success Stories, which profile Washington State exporters from industries including agriculture, technology, aerospace and advanced manufacturing.

-  More than 120 biomedical device companies engaged in advanced research and production of biomedical device technologies in Washingotn State, inlcuding more than 100 in the central Puget Sound region.

-  In 2008, biomedical device companies accounted for an estimated 5,800 jobs in the region.  Bothell jobs totaled 2,800 (48% of the region's total).

-  Regional core cluster companies generated an estimated $2.5 billion in gross revenues in 2007 (estimated based on taxable revenues)

-  Biomedical device companies in Bothell accounted for 71% of gross business revenues for the region with an estimated $1.8 billion in 2007.
