This year's Officer of the Year award is announced with pride, and also some sadness.
Bothell Police Chief Ken Seuberlich named Ivy Jacobsen it's 2020 Officer of the Year.
Jacobsen is well known by the community of Bothell, for her tireless efforts for charities that help people in need. Jacobsen is especially well known for giving her time and support to causes aimed at helping victims of crime.
So, it is with some sadness that we share the news that Jacobsen will be joining another police department east of the Cascades. Her fellow officers will miss her, along with the whole community.
The 2020 Officer of the Year award was announced on Jacobsen's last day with Bothell Police. We congratulate Jacobsen on the award and for the start of an exciting new chapter in her career and her life.
If you'd like to share the moment the Chief announced this year's award, we have posted this video of the event.
