Fourth of July Parade is Back!

We are excited to announce the return of Bothell’s annual Fourth of July Parade and Pancake Feed on Monday, July 4, 2022. This hometown celebration starts with a free pancake breakfast at Park at Bothell Landing, followed by the Children’s Parade and our 100+ year old Grand Parade.

Natural Yard Care Workshops April 13 & 20

This month we’re partnering with the gardening and yard care experts at Tilth Alliance to offer Bothell residents another series of natural yard care online workshops! This year’s classes will focus on creating healthy streamside habitat that protects water and wildlife. Register to save your spot and receive the Zoom link.

Eastside Artist Roster

The Bothell Arts Commission is partnering with other Eastside cities to develop the Eastside Artist Roster – open to artists living and working in East King County – to be used by agencies for craft, public art, music, and performance opportunities. Learn more about the program and apply today.

Cast Your Vote to Survive the Sound

Puget Sound is a tough place for young steelhead trying to migrate to the ocean. Learn how you can help them by following Team #Bothell during this May's Survive the Sound race – an interactive online game that uses real steelhead tracking data to help us understand the obstacles these fish are facing. But first, we need your help choosing which steelhead should be our team mascot.

Adopted Middle Housing Options

Did you know that our code allows for duplexes on corner lots in all residential zones? This code update was added as a first step to allowing more “Middle Housing”, which is intended to provide more affordable options. Read more about our housing strategy here:

Business Licensing Changes Coming to Bothell

This April, City of Bothell is transitioning its business licensing services over to the Washington State Department of Revenue which means the City will no longer administer business license applications. To apply for or renew a City of Bothell “endorsement,” businesses will be directed to dor.gov.

Joy Hagen City Hall Art Gallery Open Now

The art gallery at City Hall has reopened and welcomes back encaustic artist, Joy Hagen. Be sure to stop by to see and smell (yes, smell!) these beautiful pieces. Encaustic paintings are made of wax, so you’ll likely smell the sweet aroma of honey during your visit. Joy’s work is on display April 5 - June 30 and the gallery is open Tuesday through Thursday from 8am – 5pm during City Hall Lobby walk-in hours.

Downtown Overlay and Utility Project

The City of Bothell will be replacing aging water and sewer lines and paving on Main Street, Beardslee Blvd, 102nd Ave NE, and Kaysner Way starting this month. Flaggers and detours will be in place to help you through construction. Expect night time closures in April and May.

Earth Day 2022

The Bothell Community is invited to participate in UW Bothell/Cascadia College’s Earth Day celebrations. This year’s events will be held throughout the month, focusing on meaningful hands-on activities to get people excited about sustainability! No need to sit back and listen to a lecture if that isn’t your cup of tea, get your hands dirty during this year’s Earth Month festivities.
