Weigh in on two local measures

Registered voters will receive general election ballots this month. Vote and return your ballots by the Election Day deadline, Nov. 8. Bothell residents will see two local measures:

  • Advisory Proposition No. 1: Whether the sale, possession and discharge of consumer fireworks ("safe and sane") should be prohibited in Bothell. The City Council will consider election results in making a determination about whether to ban such fireworks.
  • Proposition No. 1: Levy for Safe Streets and Sidewalks. The nine-year Safe Streets and Sidewalks maintenance levy will focus on street improvements which will improve access for emergency vehicles, increase clarity of lane markings, and improve pavement quality, as well as safe routes to schools.

New ballot drop box at City Hall

Washington State voters may return ballots via the U.S. Postal Service with appropriate postage, or to a drop box without postage. King County Elections has placed a new drop box at City Hall. Snohomish County also offers drop boxes.

City seeks feedback before replacing online Parks and Rec software

The City of Bothell will be replacing its online Parks and Recreation registration software by next spring. Staff would like to know what online Parks and Recreation services are most important to its customers. If you have registered for a City of Bothell Parks and Recreation program or rented a facility (either online or via other methods), please take a few minutes to complete a brief survey. The survey will be open until Oct. 31.

The Parks and Recreation Department will use survey results in selecting the new online registration system.

Prevent local flooding

Some residents mistakenly blow or sweep their leaves into the street, not realizing they become a safety and stormwater hazard to their property and neighborhood.  If leaves clog storm drains, it can cause localized flooding, putting neighborhoods at risk.  Please rake leaves into your yard waste bin, use them as mulch for garden beds, and tell your friends and neighbors how to help themselves and their community.

Participate in “Salmon Seeson”

Fall is here, and salmon again are making the long trek to spawn in local streams and rivers. The Salmon Seeson program helps local residents find salmon-spotting locations, both tours and self-guided. Bothell has listed a site along North Creek to help you spot fish.
